Texas Congressman Will Hurd is in San Antonio Tuesday for a briefing on our cities military installations.
Hurd is visiting Joint Base Lackland, Fort Sam Houston and Brooke Army Medical Center. He's traveling with fellow Congressman Mac Thornberry, who is chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.
There have been many goals for the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program since the concept was first floated in 2010: encouraging cloud adoption; "do once, use many times" efficiency; and trading check-box compliance for ongoing risk management, to name a few.
Quick turnarounds, however, were never on that list.
Congressman Will Hurd is set to be briefed in San Antonio this week.
And he won’t be in Military City alone. House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry will be with him.
The two will spend time at Joint Base San Antonio and Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio for a series of briefings on Monday and Tuesday.
As a city with strong military roots, San Antonio has become an increasingly important part of the national conversation on cybersecurity and military defense.
