Hurd Announces More Than $1.4 Million in Grants for Local Airport Improvements
WASHINGTON — Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas) a member of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, today announced more than $1.4 million in new federal funding for two local airports.
“Garner Field and Devine Municipal Airport play a vital role for Uvalde and Medina Counties, and this additional $1.4 million will provide the opportunity for these airports to make improvements that allow them to better serve Texans. I would like to thank my friends at the Texas Department of Transportation for prioritizing the needs of these air transportation facilities, and I will continue using my voice on the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee to make sure federal funding bolsters important grant programs that support folks back home,” said Hurd.
Grants were awarded in the following amounts:
- Approximately $549,000 in federal funding for electrical improvements at Devine Municipal Airport.
- Approximately $877,500 in federal funding for pavement improvements at Garner Field in Uvalde.
