Press Release

SAN ANTONIO—Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas), House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence member and former-CIA officer, released the following statement after the Senate approved John Ratcliffe to serve as Director of National Intelligence.

“The future of our intelligence community looks much brighter now that Congressman John Ratcliffe will serve as Director of National Intelligence. As a former CIA officer, I understand the demands of our intelligence agencies and what that means for a leader. John is bringing tremendous value to this position, and, with the intelligence community being politicized by both sides of the aisle, the position requires someone of John’s caliber. I have great confidence in him, and I look forward to seeing his leadership.”

Hurd penned a column for the Dallas Morning News earlier this year about his appointment. The column is available here.
