WASHINGTON — Colorado’s Western Slope lawmakers, Representatives Jeff Hurd (CO-03) and Joe Neguse (CO-02), issued the following statement on the Colorado Water Conservation Board’s vote to approve the Shoshone Water Rights Acquisition:
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jeff Hurd (CO-03) introduced the Crystal Reservoir Conveyance Act, legislation that transfers Crystal Reservoir and approximately 45 acres of surrounding federal land from the U.S. Forest Service to the City of Ouray.
Last week, my first bill as your Congressman, the Wetlands Conservation and Access Improvement Act, passed both the House and Senate. I’m proud to be among the first freshmen in this Congress to get a bill to the President’s desk. While it may not be a sweeping piece of legislation, it’s proof that quiet, practical work gets results—and that even small wins matter when they reflect the right priorities.
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jeff Hurd (CO-03) secured a major legislative victory with House passage of the Wetlands Conservation and Access Improvement Act (H.R. 2316), his first bill to advance through the chamber. The bill extends the timeline for interest earned on the Wildlife Restoration Fund to accumulate longer before being spent, boosting future resources for habitat restoration and wetland conservation.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jeff Hurd announced that H.R. 3857, the Snow Water Supply Forecasting Reauthorization Act, was included in the June 24th, 2025, House Committee on Natural Resources, Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife, and Fisheries legislative hearing.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jeff Hurd (CO-03) introduced H.R.3901, the Jurisdictional Determination Backlog Reduction Act. This legislation requires the Secretary of the Army to work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to allocate the necessary resources to eliminate the backlog of jurisdictional determinations and pending applications for Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404 dredge and fill permits.
